Our Story

The humble beginnings of S&L Produce, Inc. really does make for a great success story. Mark and Lisa Palazzolo began their business in 2000.  Working from the basement of their home, Lisa would make sales calls during the day while Mark would make deliveries from the previous days’ sales.  After completing deliveries for the day, Mark would travel to what was once known as a vibrant and hustling market in St. Louis, MO. called Produce Row.  It is there that he would make his purchases for product that had been sold that day, to be delivered the next.  Mark and Lisa would repeat their duties throughout the week, spending time with their young daughters on the weekends, and starting over again come Monday!  It was only a few years when Mark and Lisa came to realize this family owned business was outgrowing its’ surroundings due to their increasing sales and ever growing customer base.  It was obvious S&L Produce, Inc. would need not only more space but, more help in their fast growing operation!  Thus, they opened an office and built a warehouse in which they operate their thriving business today!  S&L Produce, Inc. purchases from several growing areas, having product shipped in fresh, and delivered to customers the same way!  Although fresh produce was the only offerings when S&L Produce, Inc. first began, over the years they have learned to accommodate their ever-changing customer base and as a result, S&L Produce, Inc. became a broad line food distributor!  S&L Produce, Inc. successfully offers thousands of items in all food service categories such as fresh and frozen poultry, fresh and frozen meats including beef, pork, and lamb, frozen appetizers, fresh and frozen dairy products, cheeses, sauces, canned goods, paper products, spices, chemicals, and so much more!  Rarely are there items that S&L Produce, Inc. cannot source for their customers, albeit stocked items or special orders!  Mark and Lisa are both very much involved in the daily operations of S&L Produce, Inc. and will continue to be for years to come!
